While this retreat is packed full of learning and working, I wanted it to be just as much of a vacation. After all, a "retreat" is a period of retirement for meditation, in the traditional sense of the word. With that in mind, I have developed the schedule in a way that is filled with learning, crafting, AND relaxing - so you'll leave feeling refreshed, rather than exhausted.
About your Workshop Instructors
Andrea Gray of retrohipmama
Hi! I’m Andrea and am known as retrohipmama. Just a wee bit addicted to Instagram and pretty things. If I were to describe myself it would go something like this: God girl. Documenter. Crafter. Snacker. Homegrown California girl. Music obsessed. Football watcher. Lister.
I produce YouTube videos, a crafty podcast and run an online shop where I sell paper and digital goods! I am on several Design Teams and get to create using my very favorite products in the industry!
I'm an all things crafty girl. Not sure when I ever bought curtains. Graphic design and digital art are part of my history. And analog lettering is a staple in my life. Fabric is my friend and so are glue sticks, my staple gun, hammer and acrylic paints. You’ll even find me embroidering rap lyrics every now and then.
Inspiration comes in many forms. Typography, nature, architecture, my boys, color combinations and other creatives. Creating makes me feel like myself. Making something with my hands brings joy to my life and happiness to my heart. My goal is not to simply share my creations, but to inspire others to create as well. I hope to do that for a long time.
Suzanna SteiN of noodoso
Hey there! I'm Suzanna!
Born and raised in California, I have always had a love of sunshine. I try to reflect that sunshine and positivity into everything I do.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with Behcet’s Disease, a rare autoimmune disease. As my Behcet’s progresses, it has started to affect my central nervous system causing loss of memory among other things. Because of this, I am SO thankful for the ability to document my favorite memories as they happen to help me remember even the smallest of details. I like to think it turns a less-than-perfect situation into something pretty darn perfect! It is my dream to share happiness with others and remind those struggling that your weaknesses do not define you! No matter what you are facing, tomorrow is another day, and you will make it through it!
I’m a bit of a coffee snob, Harry Potter obsessed, and a lover of animals. I'm silly more than serious, love to laugh, and hate wearing socks. If you want to know more about me, you can visit my personal blog – Noodoso.
